The latest set of acrylics are out! This time around I have Apollo 8, 13 and 17 CM flown-artifact acrylics with moon meteorite (all come with the usual Apollo box and booklet/COA). Most of the Apollo 8 acrylics are already sold, but I still have three left. I have a few more of the Apollo 13 and 17 acrylics. The Apollo 13 acrylic is different from the previous one; this new one is CM parachute whereas the old one is LM beta. Worldwide shipping is $10 flat. If anyone wants one (or more) please let me know! Once again, very nice acrylics! I have a few of the previous issues and they look great on my desk. |

All of the Apollo 8 Acrylics are spoken for, there are a handful more being made right now but they're first come first serve. If you want one but want to pay later please let me know ASAP before they go. |

Richard, your acrylic pieces look very nice and you are to be congratulated on the presentation. But I have to confess to some incredulity at the size of the fragments contained therein.I understand that acquiring more substantial pieces can be costly and most of us have to work to a budget but it beggars the question... are these acrylics a triumph of style over substance? |

Thanks for paying close attention, Rick, and thank you for commenting on my design skills. To answer your question, this is a balance between size and design. I'm not sure if you've ever had acrylics made, but they're not cheap to produce. The larger the acrylic the more it costs. The size of these acrylics, I found, was the perfect size vs. cost balance. In respect to the material itself two things are relevant here: the availability of material and the cost of material. Moon meteorite is not cheap, far from it. The flown material is also very expensive, and becoming increasingly difficult to source. And when one starts using larger cuts, the price goes up quite dramatically as you pointed out. That is the opposite of what I wanted to achieve here. Between the acrylic, the moon meteorite and the flown material, this was the result. I wanted something affordable and beautiful. In my personal opinion these acrylics do both. | |
