The USS San Diego LPD-22 was the original recovery ship for NASA's Orion Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1) flight in December 2014. Unfortunately, the ship was conducting operations and therefore the USS Anchorage was tasked in the recovery.Before the change of ships, in February 2014, the USS San Diego took part in NASA's and the U.S. Navy's Underway Recovery Test in support of the mission. A challenge coin was minted for the ship's personnel who took part in that test. I've tracked down the manufacturer and they were gracious enough to produce more of this challenge coin. Below are some of the specifics. Please keep in mind that ordering and shipping details are still being discussed. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like one so I can relay this back to the manufacturer. I'd like to get a total count by the end of the week. The more coins, the better as it will benefit the producer to defray costs. Thank you! - Cost per Coin: $10
- Shipping: TBD
- Method of Payment: PayPal (details to follow) and Credit Card via phone
- Serialization: Starting at 404
- Production would likely start immediately once an offering period would close.

I've spoken to the manufacturer and the coins should be completed on Monday with people receiving their coin by the end of the week, Friday 12 August. |

Good news! Looks like the coins have been shipped; sorry for the two week delay! I received a FedEx shipping email so hopefully everyone else's coin will be shipped at the same time as mine.
