From U.S.A. members only please.
Looking to purchase an STS-6 1983 Story Musgrave flown spacesuit red stripe mounted in clear lucite disc. The lucite slots in a wooden base with metal plaque that reads "Commander's Stripe from the first Space Shuttle EVA - April 17, 1983."
Would prefer new condition; please email me with pics and price. I do have PayPal account. Thanks to all.

Though I have seen a presentation like this before, I do wonder about who put them together — Story Musgrave was not the commander of STS-6, and the red stripe during the space shuttle era did not denote the commander. The stripe denoted the EV-1 crew member.

I always wondered that myself. Maybe it loosely meant that he was in charge of or "commanded" the EVA. All I know about this piece is that there were 250 made. The last one I saw for sale went for around $100 and belonged to an engineer who worked on the EVA suits for this flight.

This item is very similar to and reminds me of the Kapton Apollo-Soyuz lucite disc made by Ken Havekotte's company. Did Ken make this as well?

Can someone post a clear head-on pic of the metal plaque for this piece?
I just won an auction for one and the plaque was missing. I'm trying to get one made.
