I'm looking to purchase a flown flag from one of the Apollo missions that went to the moon? Could anyone suggest where I can look? |

Farthest Reaches has flown flags from a number of missions, specifically from Apollo 15 Al Worden's and Apollo 16 Charlie Duke's collections. You can generally find flown flags cheaper at some of the space auctions, especially from Al Worden and Apollo 14 Ed Mitchell's collections, often for around $1,000 to $1,200 or so. Of course, those are for state or foreign nation flags — US flags go for much more. For non-lunar Apollo flown flags, you can get a U.S. flag from Apollo 7 directly from Walt Cunningham on his website for around $1,600 and Astronaut Central may have some flags from Gemini IV and Apollo 9 from Jim McDivitt's collection. As I mentioned, if you are patient and watch the auction sites, you can get a lunar flown flag for around $1,200 or less give or take (plus 20% auction fees of course). |

I have seen several go for less than $1000 including BP at auction. Mostly Worden and Scott country flags. In the RR space auction there is a Worden A15 Flown Barbados flag. Watch that one. The last one (another country) I think went for about $900. | |
