This was Neil Armstrong’s freshman year, and he is pictured as a member of the Aeromodelers club:

In this close-up, he is in the top middle in the dark shirt. He probably built one of the airplanes shown on the floor… I wonder what ever happened to it.

This is not Armstrong’s own copy, or even one he signed, but that means the price is going to make it more accessible.

A Purdue University yearbook from Armstrong’s senior year sold recently
for $245. Part of its appeal is that Gene Cernan also appears in that one – it was his freshman year. That’s pretty amazing. But I think the early aviation-related appearance makes this yearbook special too. In just 14 years, Armstrong would become an astronaut and would soon after be examining models of the spacecraft that would take him to the moon.
