Greetings! I was a broker at Merrill Lynch for 20 years, retiring in 2002.In the late 1980's I did an estate plan for one of my clients, a retired Eastman Kodak executive living here in Cocoa Beach. I discovered he had some unique cameras, and about a year later he offered them for sale. While purchasing the cameras he also showed me three boxes of material, Apollo pictures, Skylab pictures and negatives, and a box full of the ERTS mission of 1972. I had no idea what I was looking at but growing up with rockets we agreed on a price and I bought them too.
They have remained in my closet unobserved until about a month ago. I have been trying to reduce my 'hoard" to make my bride happier.
I posted some questions on this site and learned I needed to hire someone to authenticate and educate me. So, where I am now is the beginning of the distribution process and it would be nice if I could avoid the eBay trail.
All my pictures are authentic vintage A KODAK PAPER prints. Only a couple have the red or black NASA lettering, probably because the previous owner got them directly from Kodak, his employer.
It looks like I have several "iconic" images from Apollo 11 including the "Visor" picture.
The appraiser said all my images were in immaculate condition. All have been in a 8x10 box and have had minimal handling. Corners crisp. I will start with my Apollo 4 pics for offer. There are three of these 8x10 size. I am not looking to get rich, just simplify the process and therefore preferrred treatment will go to the Apollo 4 buyer for my other images, totalling abot 75. Thank you.
