I am interested in buying an official NASA issued Eileen Collins OSS glossy (preferred) or litho in new/mint condition.

glossy: S-99-00858
lithograph: JSCIL-437A

Please contact me directly if you have a spare copy available for purchase. Thank you.

EDIT: I am looking for an UNSIGNED glossy or litho.

Check eBay, I think there are a couple good examples on there right now.

I am sorry for not being more specific. I intended to state that I am looking for an unsigned example of the above referenced Eileen Collins glossy or litho.

I would like to acquire a vintage unsigned example to send in to the Astronaut Central signing on behalf of my 18 month old daughter. Yes, I realize it may seem a little silly, but I hope it can be a piece that she will cherish as she grows older. Ms. Collins is an outstanding role model for young children.

Thank you for everyone's understanding.

Eric, I think that it's a great idea! I did a similar thing a few years back when we were 8-10 weeks along. Unfortunately, circumstances changed and also nothing came in the mail.

Does your 18-month old daughter only prefer NASA-issued glossies or lithos?

I also did the same thing with both of my sons when they were mere newborns. I don't think it's a silly idea.

I embarked on such a project for my son, who is now 4 1/2, about 2 years ago. I've collected autographs inscribed to him from quite a few astronauts from the MGA days as well as shuttle and ISS astronauts. I've even managed to get the two surviving Vostok cosmonauts, Bykovsky and Tereshkova, to send him signed photos. Obviously, I don't think it's a silly idea at all.

I might be able to help you out with a litho, I have to check to see how many I have as I am getting some signed, and also if the condition is okay, if I recall correctly, there may be a small bend in the upper left corner, just on the white, and not terribly noticeable. I'll try and look tonight and let you know.

Wow — same here (I embarked on such a project for my son, who is now 10, starting July 20 2012. I've collected autographs inscribed to him from quite a few astronauts from the MGA days as well as shuttle and ISS astronauts).

I echo the idea — a great teaching tool and touchstone of history.

By the way, please e-mail me as to how you "managed to get the two surviving Vostok cosmonauts, Bykovsky and Tereshkova, to send him signed photos...".

Call NASA at JSC. They will send you a litho free of charge.

NASA no longer provides lithos to the public for retired astronauts.

All times are CT (US)
