Flown STS-9 Robbins medallions are scarce enough in that only 76 were flown. This one is serial number 1 and comes from Captain Young's collection. Only a couple of number 1 Robbins medallions from any missions have ever come up for sale.

Collectors have always looked for special meaning serial numbers. Number 1 is the most special and the fact that it was the mission commander's own personal medal plus the fact that it is encapsulated by NGC and labeled with the pedigree and "Commander's Medal", makes this a truly unique and special Robbins medallion.
