I've made a replacement tower for the smaller 1/30th scale Mercury model, the one on the blue hemi Earth base. It's accurate to the original and slides right on. In the picture I've left the parachute canister on, but that doesn't come with the tower, its just the tower, rockets. This one is $150 I made one for the bigger, older Mercury, the 1/20th model, it's $250.

It looks like this escape tower (the one in the top picture) slides onto the Topping Mercury capsule.

So ... how does one remove the existing escape tower? Does it slide off? I can't seem to figure it out on mine, and I don't want to break it.
