I am looking to sell some items. I have 2 NASA prints that were passed down by my great uncle who worked for NASA. They are 25 years old. Only one of each have been created. They are in mint condition neither have ever been touched. These prints were never released to the general public. They are extremely valuable and rare and will only increase in value. If interested please contact me for pictures and price. |

Where in the world do you come up with asking 5,000 for them? Anyone can get them off of any nasa website for free.James |

All the images on the website you cite - including your own - were distributed to the press and public in the hundreds, if not thousands (and for some key shots: hundreds of thousands). What distinguishes your print from all the others? Even if you were the photographer (in which you case, the original negative would be worth more than the print), the market really does not support $5,000 for a single image. For $5,000 you could buy an item that has been to lunar orbit (perhaps even two). |

You guys seem to forget....... "They are in mint condition neither have ever been touched. These prints were never released to the general public" Having "never been touched" they were obviously made by robots in earth orbit and are still there where the "general public" can't see them ! Maybe the dollar sign was a slip of the fingers and he was aiming to put an Italian Lira sign there instead ! Adam |

Hey Hummer,This is "collectSPACE"... Most of the members/readers of this board are pretty knowledgable and know that even an original NASA issued lithograph signed by Haise, Fullerton, Engle and Truly would be worth no-where near your $5,000 asking fee. A figure of somewhere around the $200 - $250 would be more like the ballpark. - Derek [This message has been edited by machbusterman (edited December 20, 2004).] |

I have a copy of the same image autographed by both ALT crews. I can send a scan if interested to see what it looks like. ------------------ John Macco Shady Side, MD [This message has been edited by Apollo-Soyuz (edited December 19, 2004).] |

I have a nice signed one of those. the Engle is a bit smudged. Now lets see one off image $5000 Rare signatures - $5000 Upsetting a chancer - PricelessYou would think these people would keep away from the experts when trying to sell their stuff. My image came from JSC in 1999 I remember showing it to another collector in 2000 or 2001 saying they had tried for a year or so to get that image but JSC kept sending them the single ALT crew picture. So it might just be rare in the litho form but as a Kodak reprint .... |

This whole thing is a reapeat from last year. It is probably the same guy. Doesn't anyone remember when this type of sale was tried on cS last year - "Only 1 exists..." "never released to the public...", etc. |

I would lay money down, same person, notice both in Secane PA? Do a search under Secane and doesn't look like it's that big of an area, low population, what do you think the odds are. Maybe thinks we are stupid not to notice same city... Just my thought... |

I guess we've not seen the last of him, although next time the price may be $500... then $50.. then finally $5, at which point he might get a sale. |
