With much regret I am putting up for sale to C/S members first one of my books- The Space shuttle- The First 20 Years that is signed by the following astronauts:Melnick,Buckey, Gorie, Precourt, S. Kelly, Shriver, Davis, Morin Magnus, Jim Voss, Piper, M. Kelly, Diaz, Bursch, E. Collins, Bobko, Massimino, McCulley, Carey, Hoffman, Apt, A. Thomas, Payette, Armchabault, Bowen, Sellers, Virts, Baker, Love, Melroy, Morgan, Paraynski, Wolf, Wilson, Schegel,Leestma, Noriega, Kavandi, Ross, Eyharts, Pettit, Reisman, Fossum, S. Williams, Acton, Foale, K. Thornton, Bolden, Bowersox, Walheim, Whitson, Lockhart, R. Gibson, Musgrave, Smith, Lopez- Algeria,Bloomfield, Thirsk, Truly, Fullerton, A. Allen, Tani, Duffy, Glenn, Brand, Harrington, Wilcutt, Leslie, Tani, Seddon, Wetherbee, Ross, Horowitz, phillips, Janice Voss, Melvin, Barret,Reilly,Shaw, Tanner, walz, Ochoa, thagard, Frick, C. Anderson, Forrester and Duffy. Some like Virts, Morin, Ross and Fullerton signed more then once. Also includes George Abbey ( Met him when he was eating lunch with Charlie Bolden at pe Te's). All most of the signatures are on the first few pages while some are at the pages were the astronaut appears. The book is in fair shape which is good considering the travels this book has made. I brought the book to a book repair replace and they added a second page to it. There is no loose pages or rips in any of them. It does show that it has been opened and read alot. The bottom of the covers show white tears in it. All autographs were obtained through the mail or in person. I can give you a breakdown plus some scans if interested. This book would cost over $1600 (postage- priority) if you were to mail it out each time for one signature. If interested, I will sedn the scans for some pages. This is a great book. I hope it will find a good home. It has been fun collecting but it is time to part with it. $1225. or higher. Bryan |

Wow. Don't know what to say except that I'm sorry you have to part with it.In looking over the list of names, it is an impressive set. You have Glenn; Musgrave, who flew all five orbiters; Ross, one of the two to make seven flights; Buckey, one of the last scientific PSs; E. Collins, first female CDR (and CDR of the next RTF); Barbara Morgan, teacher-in-space; Thagard, Foale and Wolf, three of the Shuttle-Mir astros; Fullerton, who flew on the first ALT; and on and on and on. Definitely a lot of Shuttle history has touched that book, and I second you in hoping it finds a good home. |

All in all there are 86 astronauts and 1 administrator in the book. It was fun getting them. I still hope to support the space program- especially Human space flight by bringing astronauts to local schools and events up here in MA. |

The book is off the market. I have decided to pull it for sale for now. My wife doesn't start a new job until Sept and we just bought her a new used car, then my car engine went after only 90k miles, i need a crown on a broken tooth, my real estate taxes went up 300 dollars a month . All this occured in the last 7 days. What a month we have had. I think I came up with the funds so that i do not have to sell the book. I know for a fact that the book won't be going anywhere else for awhile. Neither will I.thanks everyone. Bryan [This message has been edited by BMckay (edited July 22, 2004).] |

If you did sell it, I think you would have regretted it in the months to come.I can only part with exact duplicates in my collection with out fear of why did I let that go. But I understand why, These things always seam to happen together. But people keep telling me it only pieces of paper. And I keep telling them you need these pieces of paper for a rainy day. Wish you all the best In |

Having looked at the book in person I can verify that it is amazing, and I am glad that you keep it for now, Bryan. Hope the money situation works out. Jurg |
