50th Anniversary Symposium of First Lunar LandingMay 29, 2019 with special guest: Apollo 11 Capcom and Apollo 16 LMP Charlie Duke
The German Association for Aerospace (DGLR), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Space Consult and the Technik Museum Speyer are organising a technical-scientific symposium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing on May 29, 2019.
Special guest will be astronaut Charlie Duke - Apollo 11 Capcom and Apollo 16 LMP.
German astronaut Ernst Messerschmid has already confirmed his participation. Further European astronauts are invited.
The technical-scientific symposium will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 9:00 am - 6:30 pm at the fantastic setting of Europe`s biggest exhibition for human space flight "Apollo and Beyond" at the Technik Museum Speyer, Germany.
Charlie Duke will give a lecture about his role as Apollo 11 Capcom and his Apollo 16 mission and participate in a panel discussion with other astronauts and heads of agencies. The symposium will be in English language.

We have the incredible honor to announce a public event for the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing in 1969. Space Consult and Technik Museum Speyer will exclusively host a visit to Germany for Apollo 11 Capcom and Apollo 16 LMP Charlie Duke!
83-year old Charlie Duke is one of the last four living Apollo moonwalkers. It will be the highlight for the Technik Museum Speyer this year and we feel privileged Charlie Duke has chosen us to spend some memorable days for the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 in Germany. This will be his third visit at the Technik Museum Speyer, Germany.
Further European astronauts are invited.
Official public event Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 2:00-4:30 pm at the fantastic setting of Europe`s biggest exhibition for human space flight "Apollo and Beyond" at Technik Museum Speyer, Germany with a lecture about his role as Apollo 11 Capcom and his Apollo 16 mission and a Q&A session. No autograph session there.
The lecture will take place in the space hall of the museum and will be partly in German and English language. This is one of the last chances to see a legend that close in Europe!
