Dr. Jernigan discussed the future on manned space flight, showed a video of her flight on STS-96 in 1999, and hosted a Q&A session. Following her presentation, Kai Marshland, co-president of the Stanford student space initiative, spoke about the plans for the students of the Stanford physics department to launch a sounding rocket into space during 2019.Afterwards, Dr. Jernigan opened the Stanford on the Moon Lunar Exhibit in the lobby of the Varian Physics Building at Stanford.
