I hope that One Giant Leap has another successful event on May 19. Thanks to Bryan and Larry for helping make this event possible. You both are appreciated. |

A great review. Of the hundreds of astronauts sent into space by NASA, Bruce Melnick and Daniel Burbank share a special bond. The two men, who spoke to a crowd of about 100 people Saturday at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable, are the only two Coast Guard membersto become NASA astronauts. For two hours, the men told tales of their trips to space, their time on Cape Cod and how the Coast Guard prepared them to be astronauts. |

Attended the presentation up in Barnstable, Massachusetts with Dan Burbank and Bruce Melnick plus Larry McGlynn interviewing them. As ever very interesting. Packed with wonderful stories of their lives before astronaut selection and tales from their missions. Great attendance for this event and then we all crossed the road to the Coast Guard museum. Dan and Bruce signed autographs and took much time to talk to everyone. Well organized by Bryan as usual and worth the long journey up and back to New Jersey. A rare appearance together of the only two coast guard astronauts. | |
