My certificate of placing an entry for the Viking mission patch/symbol I personally got signed by Bradford Smith, mission leader. I looked forward to the many lectures about the latest discoveries in the LPL at the University of Arizona, including the actual dimensions of several Saturnian moons and the accidental discovery of the Jovian ring in planetary science class back then. Wish I knew what Smith was up to in his retirement. |
