Space educator Joe Lennox will be presenting on the Skylab program on August 30, 7 p.m. at the New Jersey Aviation and Space Hall of Fame. I've not heard a more intelligent and passionate speaker than Mr. Lennox.

Local collectSPACE readers are encouraged to attend to support the HOF that night. It should be a great event and I have been asked (and have accepted) the invitation to pitch into the program by displaying some flown artifacts from the three manned Skylab flights.

Please consider joining us!

Skylab Fortieth Anniversary Retrospective

"America's First Space Station"

Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum of New Jersey
400 Fred Wehran Drive
Teterboro, NJ 07608

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the beginning of the Skylab Program the Aviation Hall of Fame announced that on Friday August 30, at 7:00 PM, Joe Lennox, human spaceflight expert, will present a multi-media retrospective here at the museum. Mr. Lennox will be using his unique film and audio footage, models and space hardware to tell the story of the nine American astronauts who set early records for time spent living in orbit. Mr. Lennox has one of the largest private space collections and has given many presentations throughout the New York metro area.

Admission to the event will be $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and children under 12.

Founded in 1972, the Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of New Jersey is dedicated to the preservation of the Garden State's distinguished, two-century aviation and space heritage. The men and women, whose outstanding aeronautical achievements have brought worldwide recognition to the state, are enshrined in the Hall of Fame. The Port Authority of NY & NJ generously supports the museum by providing the space for the Aviation Hall of Fame.

Just a friendly reminder of the Skylab presentation by Joe Lennox taking place in Teterboro, NJ this Friday night.

There will be an artifact component to the presentation too with items you can hold that were carried on each of the flights!

Would love to see some other local collectors there.

As well as being an educator and prolific speaker on the subject of space exploration, Joe is also the author of a tremendously interesting and involving book about his passion for the subject and the physical difficulties he has faced in his life, called "Vision for Space." If you're quick enough you might be able to find a copy and have Joe sign it on the night.

You're right, Colin. His book is terrific.

Incidentally, Joe's home also acts as one of the best space museums I've ever seen! Many of us wrote to the astronauts during the space program but Joe wrote to their parents, neighbors and butcher's as well. Incredible depth to his collection.
