Bouncers... With my years of police and prison security experience I wrote to Ken and offered to do the security role for FREE if I could attend the event and get an autograph!
Only too glad to cover similar events for him FREE on that basis.

Bouncers, free or not, won't solve the problem of making an orderly queue for an autograph at the end of a lecture.
Two factors caused the difficulties at Pontefract despite the plea to queue a seating row at a time. First was the rush of people wanting to get their photos. These had to leave the hall and who can blame them when on their return they just joined the end of those already waiting for an autograph. How are you going to determine which row they came from?
The second factor was human nature. Once the rush started everyone wanted to stake their claim to a place as near the front as possible. An army of bouncers wouldn't have stopped it. Once again, who was to say in which row people had been seated.
There is a solution though and one where some determined enforcement might just work. Let the order of signing be by ticket number. This could be fairly easily policed and those having been out to collect photos could be allowed back into the queue in an orderly fashion. An additional benefit is that it might persuade people to buy a ticket early to get a low number and with it a prime spot in the queue.
