Unless a satellite crashes into my house, I should be okay in going to see Walt for the first time. Great choice Ken... |

Great news, the U.K scene was looking pretty quiet for visits as we sink into the winter and the dark nights. Well done Ken! We'll be there too for both events.

I have not attended a Pontefract event yet but from what I have heard it is certainly going to be my first, so I'm in too. |

Ken is now accepting payment for the Walt Cunningham dinner and lecture. Those wishing to buy tickets for the dinner, please make the cheques payable to Ken Willoughby. For the public lecture, please make cheques payable to "Apollo 13". All cheques to be mailed to; Ken Willoughby. 11 Hardistry Drive Pontefract West Yorkshire WF8 4BU. Tickets for the recent dinner with Sy Liebergot sold out. Come to mention it, the dinner tickets for Ken's events always sell out! Given the enthusiasm expressed to me at the prospect of Walt's visit might I suggest payment sooner than later. |

Walt has agreed £15 for each extra signature over and above the free one.A maximum of 2 extras per person. I understand his current signing fee is around £50 each. |

Is it possible to pay the fee for two extras at the same time as sending payment for the lecture? Will Walter be signing after both the dinner and lecture? Thanks this will be my first event! |

There has been a suggestion put to Walt that he may want to bring over copies of his excellent book "All American Boys" to sell in March. Sy Liebergot after all sold quite a number of his books while in Pontefract recently.Walt understandably is reluctant to hump over a pile of books but is willing to arrange for the publisher to sell books directly to Ken, with the caveat that he does not over estimate the number he may need as he could end up "stuck with them". I was hoping a straw pole of members planning on attending the event (and interested in buying a copy of the book on the night) would give Ken an idea of the likely number of books he may need should he decide to take Walt up on his offer. Ken's events are not profit making; any proceeds are ploughed in to the next event so naturally Ken would want to limit the potential exposure. I think it safe to say Walt would sign them. Ken is also prepared to make arrangements for anybody willing to pay for 2 extra signatures in advance. Just make payment for the extras directly to him. Editor's note: Rather than fill this thread with the straw poll, please e-mail Rick with your interest. |

Rick - times of dinner and lecture? Or after Ed Mitchell's talk are we expected to ESP them? |

Ken has made available details of the Walt Cunningham event nice and early so people attending can make plans. There has already been a lot of positive feedback so let's get behind Ken and get those cheques in sooner than later. The event may not be until March but Ken is required to pay Walt a deposit much sooner than that. |

Good to see a number of members have already received tickets though Ken tells me there has been a slow down in demand after an in initial splurge.I would encourage everybody planning on attending to get those payments to Ken asap. Walt requires half his fee around January as I recall. Ken may be from Yorkshire but he is no Jimmy Saville so is counting on those ticket sales. As the saying goes..."No bucks, no Buck Rogers" "How's about that then......!" |

Yep, have got my tickets too. These evening events in Pontefract are fantastic and attract a great bunch of people. Everyone has a chat and fun swapping stories and catching up. If you've never been to one before give it a go, you will not be disappointed!Well done yet again Ken! |

Ticket sales are currently giving your average snail a run for his money.I have heard more times than I care to remember that the Apollo astronauts are increasingly unwilling to visit the UK as age is not on their side. I find it difficult to understand therefore why there have not been more ticket orders to see Walt. A lecture and an autograph for £30. Bit of a "no brainer" to me. |

Thanks David. Ken has had to put up some of his own money to secure guests in the past and naturally he is reluctant to do so again so please ladies and gentlemen, show Ken your support.

Can I be honest? Anyone who is in a position to support Ken in this venture but doesn't is not a real enthusiast...This is Walt Cunningham for heaven's sake! |

I agree David. If you've got the funds, support these events. In years to come these evenings with Apollo astronauts will be no more and we don't want to be regretting missed opportunities do we? |

...and only four months to go. I cant wait.I am a relative newcomer to Ken's events in Pontefract. There are not many things in life that I regret, but not being at all of his amazing space events is one of them.

Ticket sale are sluggish; around 125 down on what Ken would expect this far out from one of his events.Plenty of promises but these are not being backed up with cheques in the post. I am sure sales will come good but remember guys, Walt will need his deposit before we know it so I'd suggest buying yourselves an early Christmas gift and get some Walt Cunnigham tickets sooner that later. |

While reading through some of the Autographica "wish lists" posted recently I could not help but notice some of the names mentioned. Jim Lovell inparticular is one name that crops up regulalrly and he is one of the Apollo era guys I would jump at the chance to spend some time with.It makes it all the more remarkable therefore when you realise that Ken had Lovell booked to come to Pontefract a couple of years ago but had to cancel due to poor ticket sales. If I were a betting man I would wager that we will now not see Lovell in the UK again! What a wasted opportunity. |
