Are any fellow collectSPACE members planning to attend the events at Oshkosh: the Jim Voss event at the EAA Museum on July 14, 2007, the presentation by Scott Horowitz and Anousheh Ansari, or the events with Joe Engle and Jim Lovell? This would be a great time for collectSPACE members to get together and talk about aviation and space. Please contact me if you are planning to attend. Hope to see all my fellow collectSPACE friends at Oshkosh. Thank you. |

I'd like to attend that.. unfortuneatly, I'm down in FL. On a related note, my hometown Lakeland, FL hosts the EAA Sun'nFun fly-in second only to Oshkosh... |

I attended the Jim Voss presentation at the EAA Museum @ Oshkosh, Wisconsin yesterday and it was a very good informative presentation. Astronaut Voss was very friendly and polite to sign photos and books that I brought along. If any fellow Collectspace members get a chance to attend an event by Jim Voss I highly recommend it. Thank you. |

Just got back from the EAA events at Oshkosh. What a wonderful time. Anousheh Ansari is very friendly and sign all my items. Unfortunately, Scott Horowitz could not attend the events and had to cancel. Joe Engle did an excellant presentation about the X-15, approach and landing test and STS=2. Very friendly person as well. Jim Lovell had a packed house when he talked about Gemini and Apollo. Then he introduced the film of Apollo 13. Astronaut Janice Voss was present as well on Monday, July 23rd. There were about a half dozen astronauts there on vacation as well. Great event and if any collectspace members get the chance to attend in 2008, hope to see you there. Oh yes, Chuck Yeager and Bob Hoover was also there. Thank you!! |

Well, another Fly-in I did not get too !"Something" flew over South Bend on Saturday....I was half-asleep at the time, when the radio announcer said that there were calls about some strange aircraft in the area....he talked about it like it was a UFO or something, he interrupted the regular program running.....but like I said, I was half-asleep, and only caught the end when he said what it was and that it was on its way to Oshkosh. Nothing in Sunday's paper that I have seen yet....so it must have been something BIG ! Gene Glad you all enjoyed the fly-in ! Maybe next year ! |

The strange aircraft that you mentioned could of have been the U-2 spyplane that flew overhead at the airshow?? It was neat to see one in person/in the air. |

Just wanted to add that Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover, Bud Anderson and David Hartman from Good Morning America were at Oshkosh as well. Another person at the air show told me that Hoot Gibson was there but I could not find or confirm he was there. I highly encourage any collectspace members who get a chance to go to do so. It was the best airshow I have been to. Thank you. |
