In a ceremony scheduled 11:00 am CDT on Tuesday, June 28, the Adler Planetarium unveils the James A. Lovell statue, titled 'Quest for Exploration' by artists Julie Rotblatt-Amrany and Omri Amrany. The sculpture will be part of a new exhibition featuring stories of human space exploration and America's space pioneers.

Hey all space fans,

Nice to see that Chicago events are posted here. I was at the Unveiling of the Lovell statue at the Adler, and thought you all might like to read about it.

It can be found here: http://astronomer.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=Adler&action=display&thread=11200030 25

It was quite a nice event and pleased that I finaklly got to meet Capt James Lovell.

Too cool!

Joe-

Great Job on your article concerning the event. I too had the pleasure of meeting Jim & Marilyn Lovell at a HOF event a few years ago. Two very nice people. The artist did a fantastic job on the statue.
