It is great to see all the posts concerning Armstrong's integrity and honesty. I spoke with a high school class mate of his. This individual was also interviewed by Jim Hanson (authorized biographer for Armstrong's new book). As a youngster, Armstrong kept to himself and studied science a lot. He was not a socialite. He once witnessed a flight student crash in a plane with his instructor in the plane. The student died in Armstrong's arms. Armstrong was an Eagle scout at the time. I can't wait to read the biography about this incredibly humble man. Tahir |

Tahir,I`m sure you must have read the post about Neil Armstrong`s trip to Dublin,Ireland. I went to meet Neil with other UK members of this forum after the Face to Face interview he gave. He is truly a man of great integrity, and honesty. He does seem nervous at first but if you ever get the chance and havent met him...try to get to one of the functions he occaisionally attends..you wont regret it !! I am really looking forward to reading the biography...I wouldnt swop the picture I had taken with him for anything. That was better than getting his autograph ... Regards, Andrew | |
