Hi - anyone else attending the National Aviation Hall of Fame President's Dinner on July 18?I thought the friday night event might be a better opportunity to meet the enshrinees, instead of the larger event on saturday. If enough folks are there, maybe a pre or post-dinner coctail hour is in order.

I might make the trip out there. If I can meet Neil Armstrong then I will have met all 12 men who walked on the Moon.I read that the Friday night dinner is sold out unfortunately. But the Sat. events sound fun too. It would be interesting to visit the Air Force flight museum there too, and maybe make the trek to the Armstrong museum in Wapakoneta. |

Definitely visit the Neil museum in Wapok.. it is not the biggest or the best of all the space themed museums.. but there are definitely some things there to be seen.. Gemini 8, many of the gifts that Neil got while travelling on the World Tour after the Apollo 11 quarantine,a really nice stand up console simulator to dock Gemini 8 with its Agena target vehicle.. and you do need to use both hands, one on the translator and 1 on the stick ( I tried 3 times and never got close.. ) and a sit in Shuttle landing simulator as well.. its definitely worth a trip!! Unfortunately , there was a large mural of Apollo 11 on the front of one of the downtown buildings that had been there since 1969.. and was painted over the last time I was there in 2001.. what a shame , and a loss for Wapakoneta. |

Hi everyone,I purchased a ticket for the big event but did not for the President's dinner. Any idea how I can pick one up at the last minute? Thanks for the friendly advice. David Beigie Evergreen, CO |

A phone call to Cee John at NAHF may do the trick for a friday night dinner ticket - wouldn't be surprised if some people have cancelled. Even checking the day of the dinner might work. All - I'm staying at the Dayton Doubletree, a little further from the convention center; any chance of setting up a collectspace meet and greet on friday before the dinner? maybe at 4:30pm at the hotel adjacent to the convention center? Rob Pearlman - will you be in Dayton? Regards, Dave Hibbitts |

Hi,I have 1 ticket to the Friday event, and 1 ticket to the Saturday event. Sorry for the late notice, but I just accepted the fact that I can't go. They're available to the first responder. Oh, and they're free. |
