Ok. This is fun. I got one.

Which manned mission holds the record for the lowest orbit of the Earth?

That would be interesting...

I know Apollo 15 flew a lower orbit to help with the increased payload of the J mission. It may have been about 95 miles. I am not sure if they did that on Apollo 16 or 17.

It poses a question too, what IS the lowest orbit you can fly and stay in orbit? (I don't have the answer, I am just curious.)

Crew of 2 people also.

Hint #2: Look around my web page, there is a signed picture of the craft autographed by one of the crew.

Good answer. Actually, I was thinking of the first one to do the low orbit - Voyager!

There is a story I read about a photo that was signed by Von Braun of an early rocket launch attempt at the old mal function junction, (i.e. the Cape). The rocket had lifted off about a hundred feet up, then spiraled out of control, cartwheeling to destruction. A still photo showing the rocket about 100 feet up, but perfectly side ways was inscribed:

" Orbit perferct, perogee too low."
Dr.Werner Von Braun

I believe this was in the "Light Stuff"
Does this count as the record for the lowest orbit?
