I recently acquired a nice group of recovery covers. What I'm interested in knowing, is a little more about the J. Walter Green Apollo 14 cover.
It looks as if this was made by him, the cover uses the same blue ink for his name and title as the crew patch cache. Has anyone seen this cover before?
Also the Apollo 16 cover, second from bottom. Any info would be appreciated.

What a great find. These are both Prime Recovery Ship (PRS) and most Captain's covers as well. The Apollo 10 and Apollo 11 are the most valuable. The Apollo 16 was done by Art-O-Pages. Congratulations.

Went through a couple of the recovery envelopes that had J. Walter Green printed on them and found some nice letters in them.

Apparently, Walter Green was an assigned "on ship" Associated Press pool photographer for many of the Apollo (and one Skylab) prime recovery ship vessels. A very nice assortment of key Navy recovery ships with Captain's covers and I especially like the unusual Apollo 14 ship cover with Green's name on it. Perhaps it was his own personal cover issue.
