I have a couple of hundred envelopes postmarked June 20, 1974 but the cancellation reads "First Lunar Landing - 5th Anniversary July 20, 1974."

Was June 20 the first day of use of the cancellation? Otherwise what would explain June 20 vs July 20? Thanks for the help.

Yes, likely first day of use at Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; Huntsville, Alabama; New York, New York; U.S. Postal Service, CA; U.S. Postal Service, MA; U.S. Postal service, WA; and Washington, D.C.

Though I am not sure of the first day of use, the last day of use was August 20, 1974 which makes June 20 to August 20 a likely usage.
