I have a couple of hundred envelopes postmarked June 20, 1974 but the cancellation reads "First Lunar Landing - 5th Anniversary July 20, 1974."Was June 20 the first day of use of the cancellation? Otherwise what would explain June 20 vs July 20? Thanks for the help. |

Yes, likely first day of use at Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; Huntsville, Alabama; New York, New York; U.S. Postal Service, CA; U.S. Postal Service, MA; U.S. Postal service, WA; and Washington, D.C.Though I am not sure of the first day of use, the last day of use was August 20, 1974 which makes June 20 to August 20 a likely usage. |
