It's interesting Soviet envelope. Postage stamp with two cosmonauts was released in the USSR in 1967 in the series "Space Fantasy."

Cancellation performed in Moscow July 22, 1969. Apollo 11 had just got up from the lunar surface and was heading toward the Earth.

Stamp pretty realistic anticipated landing on the moon. Although, it should be noted, just two years before landing it seemed just like a fantasy.

Moon race between the USSR and the United States ended. But for Soviet cosmonauts walk on the moon remained a dream. This is well illustrated by the stamps and postmarks.

All times are CT (US)
