I really like the postmark, it really commemorates the anniversary. I do have a couple of questions though. The cacheted cover request, what is the price and how is it sent here to the states? I didn't know if anyone has ever sent a request and didn't want to use the email address provided until I was sure.

For sending an envelope to the posted address, what postage would you provide let alone the request in English? Thanks again.

The cacheted covers (there will be two) will cost 2.50 Euro each (plus postage), Alfred Gugerell told me last night. Alfred manages the covers for the club (Gmünder Weltraumfreunde) that applied for the postmarker to be used. There will be covers flown by rocket later on.

Postage to the US is 1,70 Euro. This should be on the cover you want to see shipped to you. If you want it shipped under an outer cover, 1,70 Euro is also the postage to use. If you don't need your name and address on the cover to be postmarked, then 70c (Eurocent) would also do.

Note that the first printing of the cacheted cover showing the crew was wrongly identified as "STS-61B". Those have now been retracted from sale, and correct covers mentioning "STS-41B" are now available. Still, the covers with the error are probably rarer than the "good" ones...

At least the right orbiter is on the cover, and not Columbia as in the first printing of the crew litho...

Here is the second cover type (as shown on eBay). It shows Bruce McCandless during his free flight as printed cachet.

All times are CT (US)
