Can anyone provide any information on whether the Apollo 15 lunar surface-flown covers were in David Scott's spacesuit pocket while he walked on the moon or if they were just in the lunar module?

I have heard it both ways. Thanks.

According to NASA release 72-189, issued Sept. 15, 1972:
These 398 [covers] were properly packaged for flight and carried on board Apollo 15 by Scott in a pocket of his space suit.

True, Robert, but Scott later reported that he may had removed the cover bundle from his suit leg-pocket into another storage location aboard LM-10/Falcon once the crew had left Earth orbit.

He told me, when asked for a little bit more information, that he seemed to recall the bundle not being inside his pocket while on the moon. But...

Do you think on the way to the Apollo 15 start after lunch, Dave Scott has still the bundle 298 crew covers in his leg pocket?
