I know of the STS-8 covers and the STS-68 stamps that were officially flown in space by NASA and the USPS. Are there any others? Did anything like these fly on Columbia or the other orbiters? Or Enterprise/ALT? |

Most Shuttle flights docking with Soviet / Russian space station Mir or with International Space Station also delivered letters or covers. |

It should be mentioned, however, that these covers were carried privately by the involved cosmonauts, and they were not officially approved by NASA and/or USPS.------------------ Jürgen P Esders Berlin, Germany http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astroaddies |

That's right Jurgen. I was looking for joint venture projects between NASA and the post office. |

There were only two flown covers that were carried by NASA in quantity for the USPS as shown at the following cS link: http://collectspace.com/collection/philatelic.html |

Just to nitpick - only the STS-8 cover was flown. On the STS-68 item only the stamp in the window was flown, not the entire cover.
