I'm sure this has been brought up before, but is there anyone out there producing replica versions of some of the more harder-to-find shuttle patches? I've been in my share of bidding wars for the famous "Jarvis/Walker" patch and the "Carter" STS-42 patch, but I'd be happy shelling out a fraction of that price for a knock-off version just to have it in my collection. I've seen custom versions of these patches pop up on the message boards here from time to time and I'd like to find out of anyone know where I could locate them. |

As far as I know there haven't been replicas of those particular patches. I did a replica of the STS-61E patch a little bit ago, but it has since been sold out. My onus for doing that particular design, when it already had at least three replica produced by others, was because none actually had a sew-on apron that matched some of the original samples. I am not sure if there's enough of a demand for the replicas you mention? Depending on the demand, it might be possible to have the made. It usually takes about 15-20 interested people to make it cost effective. |

I think there was a STS-42 Carter patch made before Columbia. |

Yes there are "Randy Hunt" versions of the STS-42 Carter patch out there (if you can call that a replica). | |
