I just wanted to give everybody an update regarding the patch design.I know a lot of us are quite busy with the process at the moment, but it's going to need to take a break for the time being on my behalf. I have sent emails to everyone who has sent design proposals to me. I just came home from school today and got some bad news. My mother has just gone to hospital (expected) with my father, and was told that she has way too much CO2 in her blood — and not enough oxygen. As a result, her organs are being starved of oxygen. This was not a huge shock to us as she has been on an oxygen machine for the past 9 months or so to assist here in her breathing. The doctors are now trying to drain this carbon dioxide out of her blood, and it's unclear how she's going to react to that treatment while in ICU. All I really want to say is that I would appreciate if you to keep my mom, Vivienne O'Regan, in your thoughts prayers during this tough time. That is all I ask. I have one more week of school left and then I will be on my holidays. I don't think I'm going to have as much free time as I planned, so I apologise if you send me something and don't get a reply as soon as I usually get back to you. I only heard this news today so details are still pretty sketchy. I have a brother and sister so a lot of my time will need to be spent keeping them positive, as well as the rest of my family. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers. Cian |

Cian, all our thoughts are with you and your mother at this difficult time. Forget about trivial things like the logo design... |

Hi guys, Cian here again! It's been a long time since anything has been posted on this thread. Family matters at the beginning of 2014 meant that things like this logo had to be put on the back burner, but thankfully things have calmed down. 2014 has been a great year for Irish Space Blog, with over 460,000 page views in the last year- far beyond anything I could have imagined. However, this has led me to a question I have been trying to answer for quite some time now. I am thinking about changing the name of the blog, so that it loses the "Irishness." Do you guys think this is a good or a bad idea? Perhaps this will lead to more page visits in the future, so that's why I need your help! If anyone on here would like to contribute any possible suggestions for a new name it would be greatly, greatly appreciated. On a sidenote, I would once again like to thank each and every one of you for your hard work in helping me find a logo for the blog last year. I won't name names because the list would be too long and I'd only leave someone out by accident- but you know who you are! |

I like the name "Irish Space Blog" because it encompasses your personality and the views from your spot on our globe. | |
