Tim Gagnon (KSCartist) has announced the production of Sigma 7 50th anniversary patches in honor of Wally Schirra's 1962 flight. These limited edition collector’s pieces, numbering 250, will only be produced this one time! The patches, made in cooperation with Schirra's family, will be sold online via Gagnon's website, with the majority of proceeds benefiting the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. The patch will cost $20.00 plus shipping anywhere in the world via USPS Priority Mail ($8.00 U.S., $20.00 international). Please check back soon for updates! |

Is this the same hexagonal "orbiting turtle" patch Tim created and sold a few months back? It's a great patch, just curious re: the new announcement. |

Yes it is. The reason for the "new" announcement is that when the patches were originally made, the intent was to donate them to the ASF to market and sell at no cost.Since that time the leadership of the ASF has changed and so has the focus of fundraising. They are getting away from a commemorative "store" concept. Well my goal remains to honor the pledge I made to the Schirra Family and market these limited edition patches as a fund raising effort to benefit an organization Wally felt strongly about. I hope if not everyone, 250 people will support this effort. |

Does this mean another 250 on top of the original 250, one of which I bought, or is this part of original 250? I hope not. |

There are only 250. The patches sold last fall helped make this project possible. |

Surely these haven't all sold already. I can't find it on Tim's site! I even did a search for "Sigma 7" with no results. Yikes! |

This has been one of the quietest patch releases I have seen yet on this forum. I have never seen a picture of this patch anywhere. Are they still available and can we see a picture? |
