Amazon's listing for this title is through used book dealers and only three copies are available at current. It may be that supply and demand has driven the price of this book skyward, similar to what has happened to Murray's and Cox' "Apollo" (that commands similar prices on the secondary market). I do not know if faced with the decision today that I would pay the prices quoted for "Space Patches". While it has been a good book to have on the shelf for reference, if needed I could probably find much of the same information on NASA's website and inside Russ Still's "Relics of the Space Race" (that also addresses which company manufactured the official patches for NASA; a topic I do not believe is discussed in "Space Patches")... not to mention the excellent resource websites: www.spacepatches.info and www.genedorr.com/patches |

I loved the book back in 1988 when I bought it at a second hand bookshop. I often wondered how piles of that book ended up here in the Netherlands... It has certainly fueled my interest in space patches. The pictures were very nice. Man! How much I wanted these GTSI and Mach 25 patches... Through the years, I have discovered some strange errors and omissions, but that was before the time when all of us could discuss things in such a high speed on the internet... so for that time, it was a very good book.Erik spacepatches.info |
