Hobby Master have announced their intention to release a 1/72 F-100D of the 474th Fighter Day Squadron. The airframe represented is 55-3731 and it will be released in standard and signature editions signed by Joe Engle.

Suggested retail price of the signature edition is only $22 more than the standard. Planned release is around March next year.

Just came across the following models, not specifically space-related but might be of interest to some:
  • F-100D Super Sabre Diecast Model
USAF 31st TFW, 474th FS, #55-3731, Joe Engle
    HM-HA2120A Hobby Master 1:72

  • F-100D Super Sabre Diecast Model
USAF 31st TFW, 474th FS, #55-3731, Joe Engle
    HM-HA2120B Hobby Master 1:72

Planned arrival date of June 2015.

But is it really signed by Joe Engle or is the signature a simple reproduction of his signature? Something I've always wondered about other models from Hobby Master or Century Wings which offer the same "option".

Editor's note: Threads merged.

The Flying Mule listing specifically says "Limited Edition, each hand-signed by the pilot." However, it is not yet listed on Hobby Master's own website.

The best source that I know for info on HM's aircraft models is here.

Generally much more helpful than HM's own site.

HM signature series, the bases are each personally signed by the pilot. I have a few of them. 500 of the signature edition will be all there is.

I couldn't find a link, any help? I was told Engle didn't sign models.

On edit: Nevermind, the link worked in a different browser, don't laugh but I was still using AOL, the worst browser but that's how I keep track of my mail and contacts.

I always use Flying Mule as they pack so well and I've never had an issue with their stuff, other places just seem to throw the item in the box without checking for damages, etc.

All times are CT (US)
