I have the opportunity to view and purchase a sculpture "First Footprints On The Moon." I am told the sculpture was commissioned and authorized by NASA in commemoration of the Apollo 11 lunar landing. It is intended to be the actual scale replication of Armstrong's first two footprints. I am told the piece is made from resin, plaster, sand, and other materials.
I am also told this was presented to less than 50 people from NASA and one of which went to the Smithsonian. I do not know if it is on display.
This was made and presented for the 30th anniversary of Apollo 11. It is still in it's original shipping carton made of wood. Has anyone heard about this presentation or award? I am looking forward to viewing it and would like any information available.
