The Hangar panels are now complete and ready to be painted individually and then placed accordingly. The Hangar floor is also ready with holes for internal lighting bulbs. New piping where also installed on the hull. The hull is dry fit so the panels can be airbrushed from the inside and outside, weathered and then put into place.

I love your build and the detail in the hanger. Are you putting a tiny MQF inside? |

Thanks Ronpur, yes it will include an MQF as mentioned above. Though I am not sure if there will be place for putting President Nixon visiting the astronauts at the quarantine facility. |

The island is nearly complete works in progress on main mast and radar equipment. The island is totally scratchbuilt except for the funnel which was again modified and corrected. There will also be lighting in the island. The island is only 2.25 inches long so you can imagine the detail done. Till now this model has already clocked in 200 hours of labour of love. Keep it up Lou.

Island done and painted. A huge radar was scratch built and beneath the radar, floodlights were done with a TV camera in front of the gun range finder. The lights installed in the Island as well. I think till now Lou has done an awesome job on this model. The hanger is also taking shape with the lights installed and aircrafts ready. Work is starting on the seascape to compliment this model and make it as realistic as possible.

Here are some progress shots showing the scratchbuilt TV media antennas and elevators which were scratchbuilt as well apart from the photoetch. The cannons and Mk57 and 37 gun directors were also scratchbuilt. Lou has also completed and painted the seascape which I’m very pleased with.

Job done, Lou has made in my opinion an awesome job in recreating this Revell Hornet +3 kit. It was done with lots of help from Jodie, who I would like to thank her for supplying the decals and all the information to make this kit as accurate as possible. It has clocked lots and lots of hours of love and care but the finished product speaks for itself. I hope you guys like it and would appreciate any comments. If you look well you can also spot President Nixon waving from the aft bridge.
