Just acquired an Apollo swimmer radio. Two of these appeared at the last Heritage auction in June. I have asked heritage for more information from the consignor. It's an interesting piece of a type used during all Apollo splashdown recoveries. It has a number 18 written in pen on its flotation bag. It has evidence of saltwater immersion.the reverse of the radio has a small Morse code table.
Now for an interesting twist, these things were built to be robust and capable of being submerged in up to 50 feet of water. Couldn't resist seeing if it still worked. So I set it to beacon mode and hooked up a home made 12volt supply. It worked! Amazing to hear the sounds from 50 years ago. The radio mode also worked but just got static.
Any info greatly received.

Assume your tracking 296.8MHZ was VHF receiver tuned freq on the CM. The same was utilized for LM TX to CM RCV LOS VOX comms.
