I managed to acquire a piece of lunar dust coated cord (from Artifact Cloud) taken from the Apollo 16 lunar module, Orion. I mounted it inside my wristwatch. Unfortunately the project got horrendously complicated as the space under the watch hands is much thinner than I thought! I made a lot of mistakes and had to reduce the size of the sample. The bright yellow lettering is actually hiding some damage I made to the dial. I always wanted to do this project as I wanted to have a "museum on the wrist." I hope you like it. I had read some of your earlier posts about your concept, so it's cool to see the finished product! I too acquired one of Florian's Apollo 16 artifacts, so I actually am using mine as a reference point for looking at what you've created. It doesn't look to me like you altered the cloth very much at all, so any "damage" done is not noticeable in the least. Nice positioning of the yellow strĂpe. I think that visually it kind of shifts focus toward the artifact. Your close-up view of the grains of dust is quite like that seen on my artifact at about 50x zoom. (If you go higher the views all around the cloth are even more stunning, you can see varying shades of grey on some of the grains.) Great job turning your idea into a reality! |

Thank you.I think Florian's Apollo 16 Beta cloth is the only affordable way to have lunar dust and something that has been on surface for three days. | |
