There are several similar posts on provenances within this topic forum, but was wondering if adding to limited provenances or creating provenances would help to establish or strengthen the hardware's authenticity.
I recently purchased on eBay a shuttle thermal blanket swatch and it came with exceptional paperwork. However, the seller could not find it so all I really have to go on is the eBay listing. I have several other items that I've purchased over the years with very limited or no paperwork so I'm hoping this can be done with them as well with some detective work.

Sorry to inform, but most people won't accept an eBay listing as provenance. Shady sellers will make up a story to sway buyers into feeling sure about an item.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. Maybe I'll just put something together cause I like to learn about the history. Maybe if I come up with enough "evidence" I could sway maybe Ken for an "unofficial" determination. Just some thoughts.
I really like the discussion about the Gold Standard in this previous cS topic forum. A lot of the items I have contain part numbers and contract numbers which makes it somewhat easier to determine "point of origin," but not necessarily chain of custody in a "true" provenance.
