The crew of Soyuz TMA-19M, who launched on Dec. 15 to the International Space Station, chose a medallion honoring the 55th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight as their zero-g indicator.
Here everything is clear — next year will be 55 years of flight of Yuri Gagarin," Soyuz TMA-19M commander Yuri Malenchenko wrote in his blog. "April 12, 1961, the flight of the first earthling opened the era of manned spaceflight, and I am very proud that together with my colleagues I have the most direct bearing on the continuation and development of the space age."
