I got this from NASA Administrator Charles Bolden in person. I have never encountered similar item for sale. The whole coin was flown in space.

Thanks for sharing this great piece! I'm very much into coins and medallions and would love to hear how you received the coin.

Interesting coin. Any chance you may want to sell it?

Here is the one I have:

I'm happy that a cS member got this, but this is the primary reason why I always thought VIP gifts like this were a waste of time and money, because they often just get handed over to someone else.

I don't mean you did anything wrong be being given the coin, I mean I've seen so many people go so far out of their way to create amazing things to give VIPs who in turn immediately just hand it over to someone they know. It renders the whole action of making or getting said item a moot point.

I can't fault anyone who winds up with said item (I have a few things given to me just like this), but I find it sad that all the effort and expense goes into something which is just flipped over to someone else who knew the VIP...

In the last decade, due to my job, I have met many USAF space command 3 and 4 stars generals, and was given their personal challenge coins. Just recently I got a challenge coin from Canadian Space Agency's president, when I hosted him on an official professional visit.

I won't sell these items, or transfer them to another person.
