"Aviator, astronaut, husband, father, reluctant hero" — that is how a new documentary describes its title subject, the first man to step foot on the moon.
"Armstrong," from Tin Goose Films, aims to tell the story of Neil Armstrong, from his youth to his command of the first lunar landing and what came after his return to Earth. The feature film, now in production, is due out in the spring.

This looks exciting. Given the credentials of the film makers this promises to be something special.

Harrison Ford gives voice to the first man to walk on the moon in a new documentary coming to theaters just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission.
"Armstrong," directed by David Fairhead, features never-released home movies that together with still images and footage from NASA's archives chronicle the late astronaut Neil Armstrong's life. Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, will release the 100-minute "Armstrong" in theaters and through on demand video services on July 12.

It's superb. I found it riveting and quite emotional actually, you get to see much more of Neil as a person.
His home movies (the footage of his daughter is so very sad), long contributions with his sister, sons and ex wife, interviews with his former squadron mates, and with Dave Scott, Frank Borman, Mike Collins and a jocular Chris Kraft. No Buzz Aldrin though... anyway it's a must see! It's a great tribute to Neil.

Just got home from watching this at my local Cinema and Grill. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Chris Kraft will crack you up. Catch it if you can. Can't wait for it to become available on Blu-Ray in the states. A must-have for me.

I really enjoyed this documentary mostly for all the wonderful vintage film clips most of which I'd never seen before.
The interviews were also fantastic. This was an unexpected pleasure.
