I've gotten hold of the old book/records "To the Moon" by Time-Life. It is a big book and six LP records with space history. Included are old recordings about Goddard, von Braun and of course Mercury, Gemini and Apollo highlights. The layout is very similar to "In Their Own Words" published some years ago. But the selection of recordings are different.

I'm in the process of putting the records on mp3 so I can enjoy them in modern players, and before the records or the turntables fall apart.

Hope someone here can help...

Trying to track down an MP3 version of the Time Life publication and record set "To The Moon." I have fond memories listening to this as a child and would like to share the experience with my children.

Editor's note: Threads merged.

Oh, does this thread bring back memories of 1969. I remember vividly receiving the mailing from Time-Life advertising the pre-order with the reply card enclosed; it came around the time of the Apollo 9 mission if I recall. Then, following the next flights through to Apollo 11 itself and the wait for its release. The boxed set came out by the end of the year.

My original copy of the records (and book) are now dog-eared, but I have since acquired a like-new set I plan on keeping sealed, and a recent buy of the records only in better shape to use as a listening/digital recording source. One of those iconic 'Spoken Word' LPs a collector must have.

I have that same set myself at home. If anyone has the digital version, I'd love to get a copy of it also. I don't have a turntable anymore that would play those.

I have just taken received in hand a complete set of the Time-Life records and accompanying book, care of a fellow collector from Scotland. The condition isn't great 'B' grade however my children are fascinated by the records but unfortunately I no longer have a record player to listen them on.

Just to revive this old thread, Archive.org has accepted my vinyl rip of this boxed set. It can be listened to and downloaded here.

Let me know if you notice any issues. I applied only minimal hiss reduction and I 'think' I corrected all the skips.

Great that this excellent LP set has been 'restored' and made available to a new audience in a digital format in the 21st Century. Will download it for myself, even though I have three(!) sets in varying degrees of condition.
