This is from my aviation history and astronauts group:
If your interests include test pilots, the XB-70 and Al White, then you may be interested in this.
This was posted to my Aviation History group by Ian Hinkler, a mate from down under. I thought it may be of interest to many of you as well.

In the article it mentions his book, if you are interested in this book please contact me. It is titled "The Times of My Life: A Pilot's Story".

Wonderful insight into the XB-70 and other programs. He is of course, arguably one of the great test pilots of the 20th Century.

For $20 plus $3 US shipping its a must for any aviation and aerospace library. Al will of course sign it before he sends it to you if you desire.

Al as you may or may not know, flew the XB-70 and was Scott Crossfield's backup on the X-15 program (and an important part of the aircraft's design) - amongst many others.

My copy of Al White's book arrived in Orstralia this morning. I have just finished reading it.

All I can say is if you are interested in test pilots, the XB-70 or Al White, buy a copy of the book. I enjoyed it very much. It would appear that Al White has published it himself. I for one am glad he took the time to do that.

Does he say anything about the Valkyrie accident in which Joe Walker was killed?

He describes the accident in some detail and gives a new perspective on how and why the collision occurred.

It's a tough one to find anymore. He self published it and there's not a whole lot of them out there.

I did find two examples on bookfinder.com.

Does anyone have any suggestions for obtaining a copy? I've tried Amazon, Bookfinder and Google without success.

Thanks!
