In 1962, Nelson Doubleday Inc. put out two phonograph recordings of the Mercury-Atlas 6 (MA-6) and Mercury-Atlas 7 (MA-7) flights. These were small records, about the size (6-3/4 in. in diameter) of a 45, but had the small hole in the center and were played at 33-1/3 RPM. If I had to guess, I'd say that each record had roughly ten minutes of audio material on it.

Does anyone know if Doubleday, or anyone else, issued records for the MR-3, MR-4, MA-8 and MA-9 flights as well?

There are actually two on eBay right now, one has the jacket and one does not. Just search Sigma 7 record. They go for between 13 and 20 bucks.

I think the best thing about these Doubleday records is they were cut in stereo. In one channel you hear the astronaut, the other the capcom!

Yes I agree that feature is nice.

I had (now have again) the Friendship 7 and Aurora 7 records. I lost them many years ago and just rediscovered them (intact!)yesterday.

I searched eBay yesterday, but did not use the right search words. Thanks so much for the tip and heads up.
