I have what is a growing collection of First Printing signed astronaut authored books.

I have a 1st/1st of "Carrying the Fire" and was in Washington DC for the Apollo 11 40th and got to add the 40th anniversary release of that title.

I am curious of what collectors think about adding revised editions to their collections? Specifically thinking about Ed Mitchell's two revised editions to "They Way of the Explorer" and Walt Cunningham's revised "The All-American Boys". Are they worth adding or are they simply a curiosity and chance to get the story at a lower price over the original?

I do have all three editions of Bill Pogue’s "How do you go to the Bathroom in Space" but Q&A books, children's books and astronaut novels seem to take a distant second seat to autobiographies and memoirs.

I personally like the Q&A format a lot. Are there other astronaut written Q&A’s besides Col Pogue’s "How do you go to the Bathroom in Space" and Col. Mike Mullane’s “Do Your Ears Pop in Space”?

As far as the biographies go, I believe the revised editions are worth adding to a collection. I have both of the Mitchell's and both Cunningham's. As the covers are different and in Mitchell's case the publisher is different, I like having them both.

I do have "Carrying the Fire" as a 1st/1st hardcover but do not have the 40th. I had a copy and sold it off to buy other things a couple of times. Being a softcover it is not as appealing to me as the hardcover. It is the best of the biographies in either form.

I agree collecting revised editions is worthwhile, especially if new information/photos are added. A good example is 'Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope' by Mark Kelly and his wife Gabby Giffords; a revised paperback edition came out in Oct. with a new title, 'Gabby: A Story of Courage, Love and Resilience'.
