In case anyone is interested, The Space Books Store in Australia has a limited number of hardcover copies of "Oceans to Orbit: The Story of Australia's First Man in Space, Dr. Paul Scully-Power" signed by Colin Burgess, but not signed by Dr. Power. They were very reasonably priced but of course the shipping costs are up there.

These copies are advertised as being in kind of rough shape, but other than a bit of rubbing on the jackets are in very good condition.

Now if I can just get in touch with Dr. Power...

Yes, Anne at The Space Books Store down here in Australia still has signed copies of this and other books, as well as items such as posters, patches, etc. I haven't been in touch with PSP for some time, but I believe he now lives and works in Washington, DC, just down from the White House.

Just a plug for the book: This is a great piece of work by one of the experts in this field (onya, Colin), with lots of photos of the 41-G training phase and, of course, some fantastic photos from the mission itself.

It always surprised me that the "spoof" 41-G crew patch devised for PSP by Bob Stevenson (the one time oceanographer payload specialist candidate) never received wider publicity. It is reproduced on p41 of the book (my first edition, anyway), kangaroo and all!

This book is definitely worth purchasing.

He is indeed in DC, and does the occasional appearance here and there. He's also some sort of lobbyist for the RFID industry, and popped up in Connecticut to testify... much to my dismay, as I didn't find out until after the fact!

All times are CT (US)
