Indeed, it looks like this is the long-awaited update of the 1987 JANE's Solar System Log by Andrew Wilson.

(Not forgetting Paolo Ulivi's series on the Robotic Exploration of the Solar System.)

Has anyone purchased this one? Looking for a book with a lot of details/photos of the actual spacecraft.

Define "a lot"! There is a photo and a technical drawing for almost each probe (New Horizons and MRO do not have one...). So I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

I have the book. It provides a decent basic two to three page overview of each probe. There is usually a picture of the spacecraft and a photo or a drawing of the results from the probe.

It is a good book for quick reference and then if you want further details, you find a reference that provides information on that one spacecraft.

Thanks for the feedback. I will probably pick this one up while I wait for David Harland's Robotic Exploration of the Solar System, Part 3: The Modern Era to come out in 2012.

I just picked this book-up, and I am impressed. It is up-to date and in a pretty-large format. I would definitely recommend it
