According to BBC News, a comic book written by Wiltshire space enthusiasts about Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin has been condemned as propaganda in Russia.
The graphic novel, Yuri's day, The Road to the Stars, has been featured on Russian TV and newspapers.

Illustrator Andrew King said: "It was a bit alarming to hear of former cosmonauts accusing us of propaganda and distorting history."

But the publisher admitted the book shows "the dark side of Soviet life".

For more about Yuri's Day: The Road to the Stars, see its official website.

That it's attracting controversy in Russia shouldn't be too surprising for those who have been following the discussion about Starman: The Truth Behind the Legend of Yuri Gagarin by Piers Bizony. Yuri's Day is based on Starman.

To paraphrase S.R. Hadden from the movie Contact, "Why write one [inaccurate history] when you can have two at twice the price?"
