While perusing the web I came across a copy of the original Project Mercury documentary from NASA. I'm sure some of us have seen this, but I'd never seen it as a whole before, and it's also available as a high quality download.
There's some great stuff on this site, well worth a few hours of browsing.

I stumbled across this website also. It's a good one. They have lots of Apollo onboard footage and Saturn 5 launch views. The Apollo videos appear to be a compilation of all the 16mm film footage taken on each flight. Many of the videos are over an hour long.

Wow! I saw places, tools and people which I had read about but never seen. For instance, which of the Seven wrote about the psychological evaluation picture seen at 8m26s?

The thirty-minute movie Time of Apollo uses pre-filmed excerpts and a few interviews, including Gene Krantz and "Jack" Schmitt, the latter start at 18m35s.
It's the first time I hear Schmitt describe with literary details "what it felt like".

I particularly love the opening scene of this 1960 film "The Astronauts", just after the opening titles, showing an aircraft streaking across the dark sky at the Cape. The music and the narration really capture the wonder everybody felt about space at that time.
However, the audio track is a bit ropey, speed-wise.
The best version I've come across of this movie is as part of the 7 x CD + 1 x DVD package called "In Their Own Words: The Space Race". It also has an excellent-quality film about the Explorer 1 launch.

Thank you for sharing these videos on collectSPACE. Are these videos available on VHS/DVD for purchase? I would love to be able to purchase these and add to my collection. Also, could you please give more information about "In Their Own Words: The Space Race" I don't think I have heard of this one? Thanks again.

I can't recall where I got this CD/DVD set from, but on the box it gives the production company as "Topics Entertainment", and it has an ISBN number: 1-59150-240-3. Underneath that number it has: CA-151.
